The Planning & Zoning Department provides services regarding community development, land use, comprehensive planning, floodplain management, and geographic information systems. The department reviews and processes all applications for building, electrical, plumbing, and floodplain development.The department also handles all inquiries for land-use zoning and presents development proposals and requests for variance or re-zoning to the Planning & Zoning Commission. The department works with other city agencies to implement the goals, objectives and plans outlined in the City’s Comprehensive Development Plan.
